Kevin Bohl
Kevin Bohl is Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary for Ventas. In this role, he provides strategic leadership and legal advice across a wide range of corporate, financing, governance, compliance and other legal activities for the Company. He has nearly 20 years of experience in in-house and law firm settings.
Bohl spearheads our corporate governance program and serves as a key liaison to our Board of Directors. Directly and through his team of talented professionals, Bohl advises on all securities, capital markets and financing, corporate transactional and compensation and benefits matters. He also plays a leading role in our compliance, enterprise risk management, government relations and legal operations functions. Throughout his tenure at Ventas, he has played a leadership role in, and acted as a trusted advisor to the Company’s senior leadership team with respect to some of the Company’s most important strategic transactions and initiatives, including the tax-free spin-off of Care Capital Properties (NYSE: CCP), the $2.3 billion acquisition of New Senior Investment Group, Inc. (NYSE: SNR), the C$2.4 billion investment in a portfolio of senior housing communities in Canada and the negotiation and execution of the Company’s $1.75 billion recapitalization and investment in Ardent Healthcare Services (NYSE: ARDT).
Bohl chairs the Ventas Employee Charitable Fund Committee and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ventas Foundation. Bohl was named Governance Intelligence’s 2024 Governance Professional of the Year (Large Cap) and inducted into their Hall of Fame.
Bohl joined Ventas in 2011 and has served in various roles of progressive responsibility. Prior to joining Ventas, Bohl practiced in the real estate practice group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he gained substantial experience in a wide range of real estate transactional, fund and investment management, merger and acquisition and financing and matters.
Bohl is admitted to the bar in Illinois. He holds a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and a B.M. from the Manhattan School of Music.
