Outpatient Care: High Growth Specialties, Ambulatory Surgery & Imaging
Outpatient medical buildings play a key role in delivering crucial healthcare services to patients in lower cost settings. Outpatient visits continue to rise, fueled by the growth in the 65-and-over population, which is projected to represent 20% of the U.S. population by 20301. This group visits the doctor at nearly 3x the rate of the general population2. Our Outpatient Medical portfolio is well positioned to capture this increasing demand.
Ventas is one of the leading owners of outpatient medical buildings. We have purposefully constructed a high-quality portfolio with properties that are strategically located on or near the campus of highly-rated hospitals and medical centers in markets with attractive demographics. We own and manage approximately 27 million square feet of outpatient medical space across 31 states, serving over 15,000 physicians and attracting more than 35 million patient visits each year.
Our wholly-owned property management and leasing subsidiary, Lillibridge Healthcare Services, provides an additional competitive advantage. Lillibridge creates exceptional places of care for healthcare providers and the patients they serve.
